Kim Martinsen
General Manager

Kim brings over 25 years experience in community economic development, extensive knowledge in management and administration, direct project management, and financial administration to the Nadina team. She has been a business owner, served on numerous local, regional and provincial board over the years including two term School District 54 Trustee and two term Director Smithers and District Chamber of Commerce.  Kim holds Community Economic Development for Professional Certification, Simon Fraser University; Public Administration Certification, Coast Mountain College; Local Government Management Executive Certification Courses, Capilano University; Real Estate Salesperson and Sub mortgage Broker Pre-Licensing, University of BC; Red Seal Journeyman Cook Trades Qualification, BC Institute of Technology.

Sarah Fitzmaurice
Business Development Analyst

Sarah has been a shareholder and board member of two companies and has most recently held the role of Managing Director for Toronto-based Flight Level Media Ltd. She has sold and delivered large scale content and software development projects for airlines including Lufthansa, Delta and United, as well as inflight entertainment system leaders Panasonic Avionics and Thales. Prior to this, Sarah was Managing Partner at Vancouver-based New World Multimedia working with clients such as Air Canada, Bugaboos Eyewear, Island Savings and 1-800-GOT-JUNK. She holds a diploma from the McKay School of Design and the Business Management Training Program at the University of Toronto.

Natalie Maclaren
Business Development Intern

Originally from Prince George B.C., Natalie graduated from the University of Victoria in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. After graduation, Natalie jump started her career in the financial industry where she worked alongside a highly qualified team of wealth managers. In June 2020, we welcomed Natalie to the Community Futures Nadina team where she accepted a one-year position offered through the Northern Development Initiative Trust Business Development internship program.

As the Business Development Intern, Natalie works closely with Sarah to offer support for clients seeking small business loans. She is very passionate about business development in the north and is excited to gain as much exposure as she can throughout the duration of her internship.

Natalie is a new to the Bulkley Valley area and has been enjoying exploring her new home. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active, travelling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Shannon Clarke
Business Development Liaison

Shannon has joined Community Future Nadina’s team after a couple of decades helping businesses prosper in the region.  She has helped and advised numerous small businesses while she operated a Chartered Public Accounting office in Houston from 1998 to 2019.

Shannon is a long-term resident of Houston and has volunteered for many different organizations over the years. She currently sits on the board of the Houston Retirement Housing Society.

Although Shannon grew up in Houston, she left for several years after high school to pursue education and career opportunities.  During her time away, she received her Bachelor of Commerce from UBC.  In 1997, she became a Certified General Accountant.  Her work experience has included managing an A&W Restaurant, working as a collection officer and auditor for Canada Revenue Agency in Vancouver and in Prince George, and of course operating her own public accounting practice.

Shannon is excited to join the team at Community Futures Nadina.

Ais Sheridan
Administrative Assistant

Ais grew up in the Northwest and in 2003 moved to Vancouver to obtain a degree in acting for film and television at Vancouver Film School. After many years of working in retail management, she realized her passion was in business and returned to the north in 2011 to formally study business administration. In 2015 she obtained a degree in organic horticulture and ecological landscape design with Gaia College. She has worked for several years in administration and business management and development roles. She has been a shareholder of a corporation and was responsible for the successful growth of two northern companies. Ais joined the Community Futures Nadina team as the Administrative Assistant in 2015. She strongly believes in providing clients with impeccable customer service. In her role, she assists fellow staff members, management, and board members with administrative support while creating a friendly environment for clients.
